Frequently Asked Questions

  1. Do I have to have a remodeling background?

Not at all.  If you can manage people and tasks, you have the skills to be an excellent franchise owner. We can show you how to hire, train, and manage the skilled people you need so you can focus on growing your business.

  2. How do you decide on a territory?

We look at the demographics that make up our customer base. Our territories are exclusively protected areas drawn out by zip codes. The demographics that we look at are the per capita income, household income, age of homes, number of owner-occupied homes and the value of the owner-occupied homes. A base territory will be 40,000 owner-occupied homes, demographically corrected by using these criteria.

  3. Who is a Kitchen Tune-Up customer?

While our target client is the baby boomer female, your customer could be just about anyone. Every home, apartment, and condo has a kitchen and bath. Every home and business has woodwork. So your customer can be of nearly any age or any household income level.  In addition, there are many commercial business opportunities.  We will show you the potential of your area.

  4. What kind of training would I receive?

The KTU training program is second to none. We have written a comprehensive training program starting with pre-training followed by nine days of KTUniversity at the Home Office. There is more training in the field and one-on-one with our Corporate Training Team. You will also benefit from the frequent webinars annual reunion conferences with professional speakers, vendor displays and presentations.

  5. I'm not sure about working out of my home. What are the options?

You get a choice. You can keep overhead down by running your franchise as a mobile, home-based business or take an outside office. Some owners want a place to meet clients and opt for a design studio.  You also have the option of opening a unique retail space that Kitchen Tune-Up has created with your customers in mind. You really can have it all! Best of all, you get to decide what works best for you.

  6. How do I find good subcontractors or employees?

Every franchise owner has either subcontractors or employees. We use their vast experience in finding and retraining these people and pass it on to you during our training school, reunions, and seminars.
