Back in early 2001 my wife saw an article in the Kitchen & Bath Design magazine about a company called Kitchen Tune-Up. The article was very well written and told the story of how KTU was started and described the services that they provided. It was intriguing and the article got me to thinking about making a change in my profession.
Kitchen Tune-Up provided answers to all of my questions in a timely manner. Gradually I began to feel that maybe this company really was a good fit for my existing skills and construction knowledge.
The next logical step was to make a trip to Aberdeen for Discovery Day. Craig told me that I could ask them any question that I wanted so I spent the entire 8 hour trip thinking up questions. My questions were tough, direct questions related to what I could expect if I bought a franchise. Much to my surprise they did not sugarcoat any of their answers and I came away from the meeting feeling like I could do this. The people I met were very genuine and sincere; they made me feel confident that with their help and guidance I could be successful with owning a franchise.
Even though she would not participate in the business, I wanted my wife to know what I was getting into so she came with me to training for a week and what a week it was! There was a LOT of information to absorb in a very short period of time. We had homework every night and it was back at it the next day. After a week my head was spinning but I was fired up to get started.
It has not always been easy but buying this franchise has changed my life dramatically. It has been very rewarding and I have always wished I'd done it sooner. It gives me a lot of pride to help other people make their dream kitchen come true.
The support from the home office has always been outstanding and everyone is professional and helpful.
I'd have to say that anyone considering buying a KTU franchise should be prepared to work hard but nothing worth having is easy.
My experience as a Kitchen Tune-Up owner has been a good one and I'd be more than happy to speak to anyone considering the purchase of a franchise.
